Return of the blog...

So...I haven't been that active on this blog in a bit. I ended up only posting on here during tours, and the last post I made (after the AU tour and the start of the podcast) was about the VHS tapes I was getting rid of. They're all gone now. So now we're onto a new summer, there's very little touring this year due to many circumstances, but mostly we're recording a new record in a few days, and it's a stressful but wonderful experience that it's going to be. Mostly because we're paying for it all ourselves, but also, we're putting it out ourselves. No record labels, no backing, not even a kickstarter.

This records going to hit fast. We start tracking drums tomorrow (July 1st '13), and we'll finish in about a week. Soon after it'll be mixed, mastered, and we'll have it out by the beginning of August (the 8th I think was the set date). It'll be digital release only, and then the proceeds from digital sales will go directly into pressing vinyl. We are also going to have distribution via European and Australian labels to release the vinyl abroad. So you see where the stressfulness of this comes in. All paid out of pocket, and if it doesn't do well...well...it just might be the end.

There is a schedule for an east coast US tour posted on Rosettaband.com which is just under 2 weeks, but we'll be playing all the new songs off of 'The Anaesthete'.

As always, I got sidetracked while writing, and lost my flow. We'll be podcasting today with visiting bassist Dave Grossman to talk about weird things with us, along with talking about the new record.

I also became an uncle this weekend.

Her name is Kayley Maria.

More blog posts to come hopefully. I'll be updating here and on twitter. I'll only be present for the drums (and maybe bass) this time, so no ton of video stuff, but I'll at least have some drum stuff.
