Wiesbaden

Got into Germany and had to start paying .50-.70€ to go to the bathrooms at truck stops. So, the bushes got some good watering.

The drive wasn't too long, but mostly because I was able to lay down and rest a bit.

The venue was in the second sub-level of the building, but fortunately there was an elevator. We got fed some nice pasta with what I think was imitation meat, some assorted breads, spreads, and a bunch of candy and cookies.

We weren't able to get the tom holder or the bass cab in time for the show, but we borrowed the snare stand from the first band, who seemed more than happy to let us borrow it, and I quote as saying, "it would be an honor." that sort f weirded me out, but at the same time made me smile.

The show was awesome but very hot, once again. I'm very happy I bought that box fan in Knokke.

After the show we broke down the gear, but we would wait to load out till morning, because we were sleeping at the venue tonight.

Apparently there was breakfast for us this morning. Nothing fancy, just breads and jams, but they packed it up only 30 seconds after I got up, which was before I even knew it was available. Bummed, but fine. I grabbed an OJ from the fridge and went to load gear. I think I got the gear packed quite well, some of my best work maybe. Tetris skills have served me well.

Off to Berlin.

Had some German French-bread pizza...it was okay. I also got an energy drink called 'Relentless' with berry flavour.

It too is...okay.

Got to the venue. It was slightly hard to find behind a building, but it looks fun. Armine is regretting not bringing his skateboard because there is a skate park next door, but the food is good, and the backstage is huge ad comfy.

To Brugge and beyond.

Woke up and hungout with Davey at his apartment. Dave made breakfast, and then we're off to Knokke.

The venue was small, but cozy. The people working there were real nice and gave us a ton of water and soda. We has a problem with the tom stand that we rented though. The clamp that is supposed to hold the drum to the stand was missing, so we have no way of attaching it.

We ended up borrowing a snare stand from the drummer of maudlin, and it worked out well, however, we'll have to contact gate to hell (the company we rented from in Germany) to get a replacement.

While playing, we also stopped getting doing out of the 1x15 bass cab Matt was using for his rig, and now have to replace that as well.

Overall, the show was awesome, we were cooked good food, and had fun playing music. First day down, seventeen more to go.

The Arrival.

...unharmed and in Brussels. The flight wasn't too long, and I got to watch a good number of movies. I didn't sleep much, but I'll hopefully get to sleep when we get to Davey's.

The show in Utrecht was cancelled, apparently because the promoter was 'on tour' and couldn't get anyone to work the show in his absence...so, that sucked.

We spent the day instead in Brugge, hanging out and wandering. The city is still beautiful since last we were here in 2009. I would have photos, except my iPhone battery died the second I turned it back on when we landed.

We found a little grassy spot near a river and chilled for a bit before heading off to meet Davey.

We met up with Davey at his apartment, had fun parking the vans, and then I passed out. Dave went and got us breakfast for morning, and then they all went to a hardcore show nearby.

Apparently I slept for a very, very long time. I woke up around 11am, and they were making breakfast. Scrambled eggs, salmon, onions, and peppers.

We're playing Knokke tonight, and then off to Germany tomorrow.

Let the blog continue...

I've been absent for a good while. I lost interest in posting mostly because blogger changed their code and ruined my entire interface. I've changed to something a little more generic, though, I might move everything over to tumblr eventually...maybe...

Rosetta 2012 summer tour is about to begin. We leave in a week for Europe, and hopefully I'll keep up with posting this time. I have a new phone (an iPhone 4s), and although I won't be able to use the actual phone operations, but I'll be taking a lot of pictures and videos that I'll be posting when we get a chance to connect to the internet.

As a teaser, I made a video promoting both our Europe and Australia tours this summer. Check it out

To be continued starting the 26th.
