The sun sets on Aussie land

The final grueling trip to Brisbane. We woke up at 7 this morning to start our drive. More than 10hrs, multiple naps on the van floor, and a number of McDonald's and gas station stops later, we will arrive for our final show in Australia.

We're totally bummed to be leaving this place, but truly excited to be going back home. Matt is meeting his wife in Brisbane, and they'll be staying for an extra few weeks hiking through the Australian countryside. City Of Ships is continuing on with Nuclear Summer for two more shows after this, so don't miss them if you're where they're headed. However, Armine, Dave, and I are headed on a plane home at 6am Saturday. So after the show tonight, we have to say our goodbyes and c'ya laters, and immediately be dropped off at the airport.

It's been a good run outback land. Hopefully it won't be another four years before we get to come back, although, if we got around here more often, it wouldn't be as special as it is.

We had an actual food setup when we got to the venue. Nothing fancy, but it was considerably more than anyone had done for us all tour. It was chips, salsa, pita, cheese, hummus, and veggies.

There was Doritos 'original' which I've never seen before. The standard 'original' flavor for the US is the nacho cheese, but these were simply salted tortilla chips. With the provided salsa, they were delicious.

Andrew went searching in the various couches in the venue and ended finding a total of $13. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to amass that amount from couches in the US if we had regular $1 and $2 coins, cause those are the ones that just fall our of your pockets when you're lounging in a comfy couch.

During clavius, we got bombed by all the dudes on tour.

They jumped on stage right before the kick/bass break. Everyone had a guitar, bass, or drumsticks. It was quite possibly THE most epic last show ever. Felt good to be part of something like that, and I wish this tour wasn't ending.

Alas, we leave our brothers in vandom tonight, and board a plane back home. Almost 40hrs in a plane later, only 12hrs will have passed, and I'll need some fierce sleep.

Signing off till next time. All good things must come to an end.
